Best years to buy used
2017–2020 (late 2nd gen)The 2.5L naturally aspirated Fusion is the most reliable powertrain in the lineup. Simple, proven, and without the EcoBoost concerns of other years. These later models also had fewer electrical complaints.
2013–2015 (1st gen late, 2.5L base)The base 2.5L engine in this window has a clean track record. The EcoBoost versions from these years are more problematic — stick to the base engine.
Years to think twice about
